Add an option to have the human voice count the half beats as "and" So that the voice would say "one and, two and, three and. four and.
Changed the title from "Count the half beats with the word "and"" to "App: Count the half beats with the word "and""
Studies found that the human brain better responds to the beat counted in numbers (1, 2, 3 4) then in any other sound because something registers in the brain when it hears the number. That mean that our time is more accurate when we count the beat with numbers versus just tapping a stick in a stick for example (notice that it's not for no reason that when we count off a song we don't just tap but actually say the numbers and usually in English even if we speak another language). The Soundbreener metronome was smart enough to create a "speaking" metronome but only for the downbeats and not for all the subdivisions. So subdivisions up to 16th notes can easily be added in words: "One e and a ; Two e and a ; and so on). As far as triplets, they are usually counted as One-pe-let ; Two-or-let ; three-or-let and so on (comes from saying the words tri-pe-let). As far as subdivisions higher than 4 (which fall under the 16th notes of One e and e) they can be uttered in their respective number so for example a quintuplet (a group of 5) can simply be uttered in the metronome words as: One Two Three Four Five ; Two Two Three Four Five ; Three Two theee four five ; Four Two Three Four Five and so on... and for a group of seven One Two Theee Four Dice Six Seven. That's how I utter these subdivisions when I as a drummer practice these type of odd subdivisions (or not necessarily odd like groups of 10 or 12). I'm sure that since there is already a metronome that utters words for the beats (on the Soundbrenner device) then it shouldn't be to hard to make this happen and thus help musicians get used to hearing the beat in a human's voice (could be a woman too) which in turn shall improve their sense of accurate time.
Studies found that the human brain better responds to the beat counted verbally in numbers (I.e., the sounds of: "One" "Two" "Three" "Four") than with any other sound, because something registers in the brain when it hears the words of the number. That means that our time is more accurate when we count the beat with verbal numbers versus just tapping a stick on a stick for example (notice that it's not for no reason that when we count off a song we don't just tap but actually say the numbers verbally and usually in English, even if our native language is different). Great thanks for all these good suggestions! Makes sense :)
Looks like this is the same as the other suggestion, so I'm merging the two

I agree and fell this need to be addressed quickly please
I agree. I own and use Soundbrenner products, and adding the audible counting ( 1 and 2 and ...) would be an easy and tremendously helpful addition to your excellent product. This would be extremely useful for musicians and songwriters . I am certain that you could use this capability in future SoundBrenner advertisements, and it would generate significantly more sales.

Do the count for whole half quarter and 16th notes. Eg half note1&2, quarter note1E&2, sixteenth note 1E&A2E&A3E&A4E&A
I reearched this topic quite a bit, and after several hours I wrote the following logic. If anyone has feedback on this topic, now would be the perfect time! Notes: - & is pronounced as "and" - (rest x) should be pronounced but in a lower volume to indicate it is a rest - (hold x) should be pronounced as usual When is hold used? It appears when two things should be said even though only 1 beat would be typically played in the case of a regular metronome sound. Examples with a 4/4 time signature for different subdivisions: 1. Quarter note 1; 2; 3; 4 2. Two eighth notes 1 &; 2 &; 3 &; 4 & 3. Eighth rest and eighth note (rest) &; (rest) &; (rest) &; (rest) & 4. Eight note triplet 1 trip-let; 2 trip-let; 3 trip-let; 4 trip-let 5. Triplet with eighth rest and two eighth notes (rest) trip-let; (rest) trip-let; (rest) trip-let; (rest) trip-let 6. Triplet with eight eighth note, eighth rest and eighth note 1 (rest) let; 2 (rest) let; 3 (rest) let; 4 (rest) let 7. Triplet with two eighth notes and eighth rest 1 trip (rest); 2 trip (rest); 3 trip (rest); 4 trip (rest) 8. Triplet with eighth rest, eighth note and eighth rest (rest) trip (rest); (rest) trip (rest); (rest) trip (rest); (rest) trip (rest) 9. Four sixteenth note 1 E & A; 2 E & A; 3 E & A; 4 E & A 10. Sixteenth rest, sixteenth note, sixteenth rest and sixteenth note (rest) E (rest) A; (rest) E (rest) A; (rest) E (rest) A; (rest) E (rest) A 11. Two sixteenth notes and eighth note 1 E & (hold A); 2 E & (hold A); 3 E & (hold A); 4 E & (hold A) (This seems difficult to code ... the AI suggests to say out & A during the eight note duration) 12. Eighth note and two sixteenth notes 1 (hold E) & A; 2 (hold E) & A; 3 (hold E) & A; 4 (hold E) & A 13. Dotted eighth note and sixteenth note (dotted lasts 50% longer) 1 (hold E and &) A; 2 (hold E and &) A; 3 (hold E and &) A; 4 (hold E and &) A 14. Sixteenth note and dogged eighth note 1 E (hold & and A); 2 E (hold & and A); 3 E (hold & and A); 4 E (hold & and A 15. Sixteenth note, eighth note and sixteenth note 1 E (hold &) A; 2 E (hold &) A; 3 E (hold &) A; 4 E (hold &) A ---- What about different time signatures, e.g. x/1 or x/2 or x/8? Basically they are counted the same, a 4/1 time signature with half notes would have the exact same counting as a 4/4 time signature with eight notes. The only thing that is relevant here is the firset digit of the time signature, e.g. a 7/8 time signature with a sixteenth notes subdivision would be counted: 1 &; 2 &; 3 &; 4 &; 5 &; 6 &; 7; or with a eighth note subdivision 1; 2; 3; 4; 5; 6; 7.

What about allowing accents particularly up to 4/4 time with 16th notes or 6/8 time. I’d like to be able to choose patterns like “1 e a and 3 and 4” where the 16ths are counted “1 e and a 2 e and a” so in my example “1 e a” are all count 1 in 4/4 and the “and” would the third 16th note in beat two “2 e ‘and’ a”.
System update: Related feedback from "16th notes in 4/4 time with ability to add accents (hits) and select to play any or all four 16ths in each count." was merged into this suggestion. Reason: This keeps related discussion in one place. Original thread: https://suggestions.soundbrenner.com/16th-notes-in-4-4-time-with-ability-to-add-accents-hits-and-select-to-pl
