I think it would be nice to have an option to start and stop the stopwatch app on the Core by clicking a button (or possibly holding a button and start/stop it when the button(s) is released similar to the metronome). This would allow for more accurately recording how long it takes someone to run a lap, timing how long it takes for a something to start, etc.
Hi Shale, thanks for your suggestion. It makes sense. The only thing that speaks against a short press triggering start/stop in the Stopwatch is that it could be confusing your subconsciousness because it is then inconsistent across the various apps in the Core. It can be hard to remember in which apps a short buttom press would select something, or triggering play/pause (for example, in the metronome this doesnt work). New users would also have to learn it separately for each app, which overall I think can be confusing. However, I do like the idea to use the long-press and pausing when releasing the button. This way it's still possible to perfectly time pausing and stoping the stopwatch, and it is also consistent across the system as it works the same way in the metronome. I've asked our developers to add this to the development backlog, for release in a future firmware update
