On page 175 of Dr. Gebrian's fine book (Learn Faster, Perform Better) she recommends metronome apps such as TimeGuru and TonalEnergy which users can silence a percentage of beats - in the case of TimeGuru this can be done gradually over time. It would be excellent if a similar function could be included with Soundbrenner's Metronome App. As Molly Gebrian explains - this helps musicians to better develop a sense of pulse. The point of muting is to enable the musician to play without metronome for a period of time and also be able to check periodically that he/she has been able to keep time. I would highly recommend a thorough read of the whole of chapter 14, headed 'Improving Rhythm And Tempo'.
Hi, thanks for the suggestion, this is already possible. Press "..." in the Metronome interface and select "Muted beats trainer" (requires Plus subscription though). We are adding at some point in the future to randomize it more and increasing the randomness over time is something I haven't heard but could be an even cooler addition :D Will think about it. Cheers,
