Preserve tempo

When my phone screen times out the metronome still works if I increase or decrase the tempo on the watch but when I return to the app to see how fast the metronome is say while practicing scales it automatically reverts back to the tempo of when my screen timed off and i cannot see the tempo of where I achieved
