With the click of a button, you can conveniently create a PDF of a setlist and print it out. This comes in handy for example before a gig. You can plan your gigs setlist in the Soundbrenner app and print out the PDF to distribute to e.g. your band
Changed the title from "App: generate PDF of a setlist for print" to "App: generate PDF of a setlist to print it out"
This is actually a great idea
Hey, I worked on a design for this feature. It would be great to hear your feedback! - Users can choose A4 size (International) or Letter size (US/Canada) - Is 12 songs per page enough? Or would you prefer a smaller font size/less spacing and more songs? - Do you have any wishes what should be added? - Ideas for empty fields written by hand could be Date and Venue but since that is not always needed it's probably not a good idea for version 1 until we can allow customization. - Ideas for automatically generated field could be author who exported PDF (based on Soundbrenner account name). - I thought Subdivision and Accent markers of the song would not be useful to display. Do you agree with this decision? - Anything that was included that you would remove? - Any other thoughts?
Thanks Florian great idea. Content looks great wouldn't want to crowd with anything else. Keep the number of songs down so the size can be big enough max 12 sounds great. Would it be possible to have option to produce a csv then we can format rather than being locked into fonts etc?
Hi, thanks for the feedback. Made some further refinements and potentially added song duration (same font size as before), or without song duration I could make the font size even larger. I wonder if people find individual song length helpful? Or perhaps only total setlist duration is enough? CSV export is an interesting idea - we will consider making that possible too.
Hi, I like the smaller picture in the top left. The "first placeholder picture" was a little large in my view. – Important information on the page is set title, song name and BPM of the song. All the rest is “nice to have” add-on but not completely necessary. – A large fount-size is always a plus, as many musicians lay their list on the floor and need to read it in bad light conditions even from a distance. Talking about additional information on the page, the purpose of the page should be considered…. Is it to plan and organize the sets, or only to have the song order on site. For planning, individual song durations as well as total set duration would be a plus, otherwise “less is more”.
I would imagine the planning would happen inside the app, and then once you are done you export to PDF and print. Thanks for the helpful feedback! I agree the picture in the initial version was too big, and I will optimize the font size so that when the paper is on the floor while you're standing, you can still read the song names and BPM numbers
We launched today exporting setlists as PDFs on iOS! Update the app and go to Library -> Setlist library and you can do it from there :) Let me know how you like it
