I find it problematic to rely on a smartphone to be my connection to ableton link, while performing with Pulse. I think since the Pulse can connect with bluetooth to the phone app, why not similarly to my mac? Either a plugin i load onto my track or an app on the computer that connects it with ableton live/link. Less relying on smartphone, better connectivity and control through computer.
Changed the title from "Connecting Pulse directly to Ableton Live (or any other DAW) through plug in (or desktop app) and without smartphone" to "Dedicated Windows & Mac apps to directly connected wearables without a mobile device"
Changed the title from "Dedicated Windows & Mac apps to directly connected wearables without a mobile device" to "Dedicated Windows & Mac apps to directly connect wearables without a mobile device to DAWs"
Hey, yes this would be great. However, in practice this is an extremely high-effort feature because it requires us to build two whole new apps from scratch for Windows & Mac. But I 100% agree that this would be better than having the mobile device in-between. It's just something that we can't do anytime soon but hopefully one day
Hey Florian, thank you for the answer. Is the API for the app available? I only know python, but I could maybe program something simple using the Ableton link API. For starters just to sync BPM and play/stop commands. Naturally, if it functions well I'll share the code.
Hey, I guess you mean the API to enable a Mac/Windows PC to send commands to the Pulse/Core? Unfortunately we don't have an open API available for that :/ Sorry I have no better news
