App: Add Notes to Songs in Library#149

C

I am a drummer and I have song notes for each song in a separate app list, so would be great if you could add a “notes” section to your app’s songs lists.

Also it would be helpful if I could adjust the BPM via the Pulse from the song list tab when I have a song pulled up, where I could use the Pulse to adjust the BPM and it would update the saved BPM setup for the song.

Hey Cardo, this is already planned. Would you find it necessary to add a UI element to the Player where you can see the Notes of the current song, or is it fine to view the Notes only witihn the Library?

Regarding the BPM changes, you can update them by tapping on the “Temp” badge that appears when you changed the BPM of a song loaded in the Player. It may only work on iOS unfortunately

Hi Florian, I would like to see my song text notations (not actual music notes) within the current song when I click on that song in the Library, which now opens it for Edit. The Player functionality is fine as-is.

I was able to change the BPM in the Player mode using the Pulse by loading the song from the Library into to player and changing the tempo on the Pulse dial or on the app dial. I discovered, that after I changed the tempo, I needed to tap the BPM app dial to see the “Temp” badge.. This does work on my Android OS 12 phone.

Thank you, Cardo

OK thank you… all clear then

I have actually already a design for this - it’s not so trivial to build though because it needs to be done across iOS & Android, and integrated with our cloud sync server too https://www.dropbox.com/s/g3eoh6eq4e6zvp2/screen_shot_2022-03-17_at_15.57.42.png?dl=0

Yes, exactly what I am looking for. I only ask if you can make the area larger to reduce scrolling. I keep my Notes short, so if you can show 4-5 lines, that would be great. One last thought, please keep the font size consistant with the rest of the info displayed ( not smaller in the Notes section).

Thanks again,
Cardo

Hi Cardo, sorry to hear that. Unfortunately going back won’t really be possible so you’ll have to wait until we are able to ship the song notes separately. Sorry to hear our upgrade was a step back for you…

Any progress on creating a “notes” section so that I can put some notes in for each song?

Ex.

4 clicks start
Intro = big toms
V1 = Hi hat w/bass on quarter notes
C = Big drums, ride
V2 = Bass drum on quarter notes only
C = SAA
Bridge = Toms w/build
C = Big drums
End = Only piano and vocals

Something like this would be very helpful as I am a worship drummer and play many of the same songs over again, but not enough that I remember them all without some reminders.

So much yes, and love, to this.
Together with bigger fonts in playback-mode?
Unbeatable ;-)

Hi Gard, do you mean bigger fonts for the setlist display in the “Load” mode under Metronome?

Hi.
Yes I think that’s what I mean.
When you load a setlist in ‘Metronome’ I think the song title is a bit small.
I’m playing with 6 different bands and sometimes it takes a little bit of focus to always remember the order of the songs. :-D
